Dancing Into STEM
Dancing Into STEM is a series of videos, produced and presented by Silambam Houston, and funded by a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts, that use Indian classical dance, music, and rhythm to explore concepts in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).

Digital Treasure Hunt
Go on a scavenger hunt through Treasure Terrain! Explore characters from the Indian epic, the Mahabharata. Learn about gestures and motifs used in Indian classical dance. Find fun activity sheets and interesting tidbits!
The path will lead you to one of our ‘Storytime With Silambam’ videos, which features one or more of the characters from our dance theater production, “Chakravyuh: Battle Against The Odds”, which premiered at the Miller Outdoor Theater on August 13, 2021!

Storytime With Silambam
Through the Storytime With Silambam project, we aim to bring to you a treasure trove of stories from Indian mythology and folk culture, presented in a unique narrative style that incorporates facial and gestural storytelling (abhinaya), the hallmark of Indian classical dance tradition. We hope you enjoy learning about these stories and cultural traditions as much as we enjoy bringing them to you!
